Deadhead Volunteers Help to Bring Back Oakland’s Morcom Rose Garden.

Deadheads bring rose garden back to life.


An amazing call of volunteers came to the rescue of the Oakland Morcom rose Garden. Several deadheads came to help bring back the spirit of the rose garden. A symbolic meaning of deadheads came about when the call to help rescue the rose gardens because you deadhead a wilting rose. There always has been a connection between the Grateful Dead and roses. It has been reported that the Grateful Dead bands name contrast the connection between life and death. The Grateful Dead cover albums have a prominent icon which is usually has a Skelton clutching the rose.

Volunteers came to the calling wearing tie dye shirts and vest. The deadheads jam away to the great music of the Grateful Dead while pruning roses. The volunteers worked hard while snipping away at the parks 5,000 rose bushes. The Oakland’s Morcom Rose Garden is full of musical sprit and has a free soul with the help of the deadheads to bring this amazing garden back to life. It has amazing lily ponds, cascading waterfalls and stately colonnade. It is a garden that is full of magic and a place that is full of peace and harmonizing.

If it wasn’t for the great help of the deadhead volunteers to bring these gardens back to life this place would have never made it through the entire city cut backs the gardeners could not keep up the work. A great thanks goes out to all the volunteers for the great help in keeping the Morcom Rose Garden alive. This amazing bed of roses can now grow to their fullest and keep the spirits of the deadheads going as well as the peace, happiness, and tranquility to the visitors of the Oakland’s Morcom Rose Gardens.
